SISTER DISCIPLES OF THE DIVINE MASTER
It was a lovely occasion for
the Sister Disciples to invite and share an Advent celebration
with the members of the Pauline Family in Sydney, on Wednesday 19th
December.
All the Pauline members were present at this function which combined
prayer and an evening meal.

The front parlour was chosen
as the setting for a time of prayer, recalling the beginning of the
mystery of the Incarnation, the Annunciation, and taking time to
reflect on the Scripture reading from Luke 1: 26-38. There was a
time for remembering and reaching out to others with the Prayer of
Intercession, and in this prayer all the members of the Pauline
Family scattered throughout the world were included. |
| As our prayer time was
focused on the theme of joy, taking place during the third week of
Advent, the verse was sung: ‘Rejoice, rejoice Emmanuel shall come to
you, O Israel!’ recalling our expectation in hope, as the opening
and closing versicle. |

After this time of prayer, we
gathered around the piano to sing some Christmas Carols to help us
enter more surely into the spirit of the approaching feast of
Christmas. Everyone took part with much gusto and even though there
was not music to accompany some of the carols, the singing went on.
|
The evening continued with a
meal together and a time of camaraderie with members of the Pauline
Family, who expressed their joy to be together and to make a common
preparation for Christmas. We hope that this initiative may have set
a precedent for future years in having a celebration as ‘Family’
during this time leading up to this wonderful event when we recall
the Incarnation of the Lord.
