Our Founder,
Blessed James Alberione,
has always dreamed of contributing something to the work of
evangelization in China. With him, we nourished the desire to share
our life centred on Jesus Master, Way-Truth-Life, expressed in the
adoration of His Eucharistic Presence, in the rich and various
dimensions of the liturgy, with special attention to the praying
assembly and to the presbyters.
On the 30th of June 2000, the dream of establishing the PDDM
community in the Chinese soil was realized with the opening of a
small community lodged at the chaplaincy of Caritas Hospital. As
part of the ministry of the three pioneering group of sisters, one
has been involved in design of liturgical space and in the
publication of liturgical bulletins. Another sister worked full
time for the animation of the English-speaking Catholic community,
mainly Filipinos, in the parish of Annunciation Church.
As this humble foundation grows, the ministry of Eucharistic
Adoration has slowly been introduced also in the Caritas chapel with
the help of a Canossian sister and her apostolic collaborators.
As always, but especially in this Eucharistic year, we believe that
this could be a good way of offering to the sick the precious gift
of our prayers and animating their spirits in this moment of
particular need.
