The ceremony was presided over by Fr. Carlo Ambrosio, after the welcome and introduction by Sr. M. Regina Cesarato, Superior General. With those present, sisters, friends and acquaintances, including Mr. Alessandro Cinque who oversaw the completion and positioning of the 15 bronze stations, we prayed the Stations of the Cross in preparation for the Great and Holy Week.
The exercise of the Way of the Cross "recalls with affective memory the last stretch of the path taken by Jesus during his earthly life when he and his disciples," having sung the hymn, went out to the Mount of Olives "(Mark 14 , 26), until when the Lord was led to the "place of Golgotha" (Mark 15, 26), He was crucified and buried in a new tomb carved into the rock of a nearby garden. (...) By participating in the Via Crucis, every disciple of Jesus must reaffirm their commitment to the Master: to mourn their sin like Peter; to open, as the Good Thief, to faith in Jesus, the suffering Messiah; to stay at the Cross of Christ, the Mother and the disciple, and there receive with them the saving Word, the Blood that cleanses, the Spirit who gives life. All those who will walk this avenue of olives: guests of the Conference Center SGM, of Bethany House, sisters of the community of the Disciples of the Divine Master who reside there, will have more opportunity to pray, among the olive trees and accompanied by the chirping of birds.
