The 9th of June 2012, the communities of the Pauline Family in Madrid and Toledo gathered together in Madrid for a retreat in preparation for the feast of St. Paul.

The retreat was followed by a Sunday, feast of Corpus Domini, of joy and celebration in our community of Madrid. It was an occasion for celebrating the 50th anniversary of religious profession of Sr. M. Laura Martínez and Sr. M. Luisa Menos, and the 60th anniversary of Sr. M. Pilar Santamarta which gathered all the sisters from Madrid - Toledo - Bilbao - Barcelona. Photo Gallery

These circumstances, while united us in thanksgiving and praise to Jesus Master for his loyalty and love to our sisters, were also suitable moments for expressing, as a community, our gratitude to them for their dedication day after day, so ordinary that often unnoticeable in daily life.

Instead during the retreat we were accompanied and animated by P. Elías Royon, Jesuit and chairman of the National CONFER. We reflected, as could only be the case on St. Paul: on the call and the election by the Lord; the call which in St. Paul becomes a story, the call that takes him in his personal situation and gradually leads him to the configuration and identification with Jesus Christ per living-with, suffering-with, dying-with and resurrecting-with Him. The vocation of Paul is linked to the mission: "Woe to me if I do not preach!" In fact, in the Apostle, as in us, the call to a specific vocation is bound to an equally specific mission.

We pray the Lord to grant to our sisters and all of us, the deep joy of a renewed YES, united and hidden in the YES of Jesus and Mary and to give us strength on the way until reaching the Pauline goal of configuration with Jesus Master, the Way, the Truth and the Life.
