The 12th of July is the day that commemorates the birth of Mother Mary Scholastica Rivata. This year we commemorated the 115th anniversary of the day when Ursula Mary, the eldest daughter of Antonio and Lucia was born in Guarene. It is now 25 years that she celebrates it with the community of the heavenly Jerusalem. For this day, a gift for Mother Scholastica came from Argentina, her "second home". Sr. M. Cecilia Fraile, last year, before leaving for Argentina, after participating in the trimester of preparation for Perpetual Profession, committed herself, at the invitation of the Mother General, Sr. M. Regina Cesarato, to compose a song in Italian. She has kept her promise and gives us this new song.
In the days between 13th and 16th June this year, that is, between the anniversary of the birth of Blessed Timothy Giaccardo and the solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the song "I gave everything," was born inspired by the letter Mother Scholastica wrote to Blessed Alberione on the 3rd of April, 1947 on Holy Thursday. The adaptation of the original text in Italian and music are the work of Sr. Cecilia Fraile, pddm Argentina. The music, which has the characteristics of the "Cantigas de Santa Maria" and the hymns of pilgrimage in the Middle Ages, as well as the words of Mother Scholastica, written in a very special moment of her life, on the one hand they want to remind us that our Mother manifests the spiritual style of the great saints of the Church: Teresa of Jesus, Clare of Assisi, Bridget, Scholastica, and secondly that we, Disciples, we are always on the road, on perpetual pilgrimage until the final encounter with the Bridegroom . For the recording, two young musicians volunteered, sharing the gift of their talents. The song was sung by Claudia Spalleta, a famous singer, violinist and composer, who shares with us Disciples of the Divine Master, in the coordination team of the artistic pastoral work in the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires. The music, played with a guitar similar to those from the twelfth and fifteenth centuries, was performed by Laura Males, an excellent musician specializing in stringed instruments and medieval and Renaissance music. Laura shares with our community the music ministry in our parish of San Jose Talar, in Buenos Aires. To all the Disciples of the world, the young people in formation and those who know or want to know the path of holiness of Mother Scholastica, with much joy, Argentina, on the anniversary of the birth of our Mother, we present this song ... TEXT: I HAVE GIVEN HIM EVERYTHING Refrain: 1. I have given everything in sacrifice 2. I have offered him my body, Refrain 3. With the help of his grace, |
