PDDM Roma: Opening of the trimester of preparation for Perpetual Profession

“The kingdom of God is like a mustard seed, that a man took and sowed in his field …” (Mt 13,31).

A seed of life was sown today, Monday the 30th of July 2012, in our Congregation: in the crypt of the Minor Basilica Mary Queen of the Apostles, at the tomb of the Founder Blessed James Alberione, 13 junior sisters, coming from 8 nations, began the trimester of preparation with the Eucharistic celebration. Sr. M. Regina Cesarato, Superior General, gave the welcome to the young sisters. The celebration, animated in the various languages, was presided over by Fr. Celso Godilano, Vicar General of the Society of St. Paul. Photo gallery

The Word which guided the homily was: "Do not fear". Taking up the charismatic mandate of the Founder, the celebrant gave attention to the centrality of the Divine Master who through the miracle of our lives wants to illumine the world.

At the end of the celebration, Sr. M. Joseph Oberto guided the visit to the rooms and the museum in honour of the Founder and where the charism has assumed its development.

In the afternoon, the juniors gathered together with the Mother General, Sr. M. Regina Cesarato, for the introduction and the programme of the course.

There were three keywords which they focused on: the importance of the Word of God which touches our lives and actualizes them, always giving us a new message; fidelity which is perseverance: God is not just the first of a long list of things but it is necessary to put God as the Absolute in our lives; the freedom which finds its secret in the freedom of theirselves: "Whoever follows me must renounce themselves...", renounce is not just to throw away but it is to live with quality!
