Vocation stories:
 Sr. Veena

Country of origin: India

“I have called you my friends and you are mine”.... these words of Jesus specially addressed to his disciples. Today the Lord has shown his predilection in calling me to be his own.

My vocation is  a sign of Gods special love; among many He called me to be his own. From my childhood I had a great desire to follow Christ and this desire grew day by day in the depth of my soul. One day as I was reflecting about my vocation Jesus whispered these words in my heart, “You are more precious than many sparrows.” From then I realized that God is calling me for a special mission. For a long time I was praying that I may get a Congregation  that is of Eucharist and priesthood. God fulfilled my desire by calling me to the congregation of Sister Disciples. Facing the new challenges and opportunities and thanking God for this special gift, I entered the Sister Disciples of the Divine Master in the year 2001 at Bangalore in India. I remember the words of Jesus at the first Mass in our Chapel, “one who holds the hand to the plough and looks back is not fit to be my disciple.” With this firm conviction I surrendered everything to the Lord. Today I have taken the yoke of my Lord and walked the victorious walk in his vineyard. Today I fold my hands in prayer in thanking God, for calling me to serve him, in the mission of Eucharist, Priesthood and Liturgy.
