{"id":1507,"date":"2018-01-17T10:11:42","date_gmt":"2018-01-17T09:11:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pddm.org\/2018\/01\/17\/1-capitolo-generale-1957\/"},"modified":"2018-01-23T12:04:33","modified_gmt":"2018-01-23T11:04:33","slug":"1-capitolo-generale-1957","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pddm.org\/en\/1-capitolo-generale-1957\/","title":{"rendered":"1st General Chapter &#8211; 1957"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]From March 27 \u2013 April 6, 1957, ten years after the diocesan approval of the Congregation, and nine years after the pontifical approval, the first General Chapter in the history of the Institute was held at the General House \u2013 Via Portuense, 739 \u2013 Rome.\u00a0 At this chapter, the Founder, Father James Alberione, was present.\u00a0 He also preached the retreat to the Chapter members (cf APD 1957, nn. 141-233), with Father Paolo Caresani of the Oratorian Fathers.\u00a0 Mother M. Scholastica Rivata, as ex-Superior General, participated in the Chapter Assembly together with 32 other delegated sisters.\u00a0 It was an event that favored the canonical consolidation of the foundation, dealing with specific themes of the life of the growing Institute: the religious spirit which included the vows-religious observance-formation; apostolate: knowledge-practice-diffusion; Study: organization and development; Administration: economy \u2013 poverty, with the careful examination of the new text of the Constitutions that would be approved in 1960.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>With the election, the chapter assembly confirmed M. M. Lucia Ricci as the Superior General, and M. M. Gesualda Serra as the Vicar General.\u00a0 The other elected Councilors were: M. M. Tecla Molino, M. M. Monica Panero, and M. M. Antonietta Marello.\u00a0 The Secretary, M. M. Clelia Arlati and the Treasurer, M. M. Ausilia Cristino, were reappointed.<\/p>\n<p>During this mandate of governance M. M. Antonietta Marello (August 1, 1958) and M. M. Ausilia Cristino (March 26, 1964) died.\u00a0 The following were then nominated: M. M. Piercarla Consonni as Councilor and M. M.
