{"id":42932,"date":"2026-07-18T00:23:12","date_gmt":"2026-07-17T22:23:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pddm.org\/?p=42932"},"modified":"2026-07-18T00:30:19","modified_gmt":"2026-07-17T22:30:19","slug":"rwa_nuovafondazione_12072026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pddm.org\/en\/rwa_nuovafondazione_12072026\/","title":{"rendered":"New Foundation in Rwanda"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;24px&#8221;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<strong>PDDM Rwanda: A New Step Forward<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With gratitude to the Divine Master, the <em>Pious Disciples of the Divine Master<\/em> joyfully announce the opening of a new community in the Diocese of Cyangugu (Rwanda), welcomed by His Excellency Bishop \u00c9douard Sinayobye, Bishop of the Diocese.\u00a0The new community, dedicated to <strong>Mother Scholastica<\/strong>, is being established on the 129th anniversary of the birth of the Venerable Mother Scholastica Rivata. This meaningful coincidence recalls her missionary zeal: during her apostolic journeys she also reached Egypt, the gateway to Africa, expressing her desire that the charism of the Pious Disciples would spread beyond every border. Today, that seed continues to bear fruit.<\/p>\n<p>This foundation is also a sign of communion with the Church in Rwanda, which, after the 1994 genocide, has undertaken a profound journey of reconciliation, choosing to become a &#8220;Samaritan space&#8221; of healing for wounded hearts.\u00a0Sr. M. Bernardita Meraz Sotelo, Superior General, writing about this new foundation, recalled:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;We too are called to offer a home with open doors, where everyone can feel welcomed, and to live our charism as a Eucharistic, Liturgical, and Priestly Center, at the service of the local Church and the proclamation of the Mystery of Christ.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>On Sunday, <strong>5 July 2026<\/strong>, during Vespers at <strong>Queen of Peace Parish<\/strong> in Rome, Sr. Rosemary Muttasseril and Sr. M. Benedict Basa\u00f1es received the missionary mandate in the presence of many sisters of the Congregation.<\/p>\n<p>On <strong>12 July 2026<\/strong>, the two sisters officially began, <em>ad experimentum<\/em>, their new mission in the Diocese of Cyangugu, accompanied by Sr. M.
