In preparation for World Youth Day (WYD) 2027, which will take place in Seoul, South Korea, from August 3\u20138, 2027, the Province of Korea of the Pious Disciples of the Divine Master (PDDM) wishes to share the joy of its experience with the WYD Cross and the Icon of Our Lady.\u00a0Over the past forty years, millions of young people have accompanied the WYD Cross on its pilgrimage around the world, responding to the invitation of Saint John Paul II to carry this sign of Christ’s love everywhere. We, too, have been blessed to become part of this journey of faith.<\/p>\n

On July 14, we welcomed the WYD Cross and the Icon of Our Lady, receiving them from the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Assisi. These were days filled with prayer, encounter, and grace, during which we experienced the Lord’s mercy in a profound and tangible way.\u00a0A particularly meaningful moment was the “Evening of Prayer with Young People” on July 15, when the Lord touched the hearts of many participants, filling them with renewed hope, strength, and joy to continue their journey of faith.<\/p>\n

The pilgrimage concluded on July 16 with the handing over of the Cross and the Icon to the Handmaids of the Holy Family, Province of Incheon, in an atmosphere of fraternity and ecclesial communion.\u00a0The words inscribed on the Cross, Confidite, ego vici mundum (“Take courage; I have conquered the world”), accompanied us throughout this pilgrimage, reminding us that the Cross is the path that leads to life and that in Christ, who died and rose again, are found hope and redemption for all humanity.<\/p>\n

As we continue our journey toward WYD Seoul 2027, we remain united in prayer, confident that the Lord continues to guide the steps of young people and of His Church.<\/p>\n
