The Disciples of the Divine Master (PDDM) Philippine-Taiwan-Hong Kong (PTH) Province recently celebrated an important milestone in their 70th<\/sup> year of foundation\u2014the blessing of the sisters\u2019 new residence at 24 Badelles St., Isabel Village, Palao, Iligan City, on August 30, 2026. This date also marks the 66th<\/sup> anniversary of the congregation’s definitive approval.<\/p>\n

The Eucharistic Celebration, presided over by Rev. Msgr. Alberto de Lara, Vicar General of the Diocese of Iligan, took place at 9:00 AM at the new Divine Master Convent, gathering the sisters and local faithful. The Mass was concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Ronald “Doy” Suplaag from the Diocese of Iligan and Rev. Fr. Hilario Idulsa, Jr., CSSR, a Redemptorist priest.<\/p>\n

Msgr. de Lara expressed gratitude to the sister-disciples for their dedicated presence and unwavering service in the Diocese of Iligan over the past 15 years. He commended the sisters for their significant contributions to the diocese, including the formation of seminarians, liturgical animation of the faithful, and administrative duties at the diocesan center and the Domus Pastorum<\/em>, a home for sick and elderly priests.<\/p>\n

In her thanksgiving message, Sr. M. Magdalene Magallanes, the PTH Provincial Superior, reflected on the beginnings of the PDDM presence in the diocese. She expressed gratitude to the three pioneer sisters\u2014Sr. M. John Paul Canlas, Sr. M. Elizabeth Salido, and Sr. M. Anthony Basa\u2014who answered the call to mission in Iligan. She also remembered the late Bishop Elenito Galido, the former local ordinary of Iligan, who first invited the sisters, and acknowledged Mrs. Letty Cabildo for providing a home for the sisters since their arrival until they acquired their current dwelling.<\/p>\n

She extended her thanks to Sr. M. Bernardita Meraz Sotelo, the PDDM Superior General, and her Council for their trust and support in making the acquisition of this house possible.<\/p>\n

The current community in Iligan consists of Sr. M. Elizabeth Salido, Sr. M. Lilibeth Bernaldez, and Sr. M. Carolina De Jesus. This community is committed to making this place a true home of the Divine Master\u2014a haven of prayer, Eucharistic life, community, hospitality, and service. Other PDDM sisters from Antipolo, Davao, and Cebu, along with priests, religious, friends, and benefactors, joined in the celebration.<\/p>\n

May the Lord continue to bless our presence and ministries in Iligan, granting us the grace to remain faithful to the mission for which we came to Iligan fifteen years ago: to serve Him and His people with joy and generosity.<\/p>\n
