PDDM PH-TW-HK: On June 18, 2018, our sisters in Hong Kong and the English speaking committee of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish (OLMC), in collaboration with Fr. Thomas Law, Head of the HK Diocese Liturgy Commission and Parish Priest of OLMC, organized a seminar-workshop on Liturgical Ministries. It was held at the Parish of OLMC, Wan Chai.
After Fr. Law’s talk on the structure of the Mass and the various ministries needed in order to help everyone arrive at a “full, active and conscious participation in the celebration of the Sacred Liturgy” workshop groups were organized according to ministries: Ministry of Sacristans, Ministry of Altar Servers, Ministry of Hospitality, Music Ministry, Ministry of the Word and Extraordinary Ministry of Holy Communion.
The resource persons who helped in the workshops were mostly coming from the pastoral team of the parish. Prof. Victor (Bong) Victorino was invited from the Philippines to lead the workshop on Music Ministry and introduce a new Mass setting which he composed and entitled Mass of Jesus the Divine Master.
Over 200 participants from different parishes and English groups of Hong Kong Diocese graced the occasion and were very grateful for the learning experience. The event ended with the Eucharist with the Rite of Commissioning for the ministers of OLMC Parish. Fr. Law thanked everyone and expressed his desire that this liturgical formation be held regularly in the Diocese of Hong Kong.
