Each Christmas we must take a step forward.
May we allow Jesus Christ to grow within us;
through piety,
through all our good works,
and in everything we do throughout the day.
Through the intercession of Mary and through the mercy of Jesus Christ,
may he always be formed in us, to «full maturity» (cf Eph 4:13),
according to the words of Saint Paul.
Each Christmas is growing, growing, always growing.
And growth is in proportion to the spiritual warmth:
of a faith that is ever more lively;
of a will always more open to God’s will;
and a heart oriented ever more clearly toward the Lord:
the glory of God and charity toward our neighbor.
The characteristic that distinguishes Christmas from other circumstances
is that of joy and happiness,
because Jesus Christ is truly born and grows within us.
And may the New Year be
a year of growth:
like the plant that develops
from a tiny seedling,
until it becomes a large plant.
It will bear leaves and fruits of holiness.
