Meeting and blessing

PDDM PH-TW-HK: D

The PTH Province local superiors once again gathered face to face for their annual meeting and recreation together with the Provincial Government Team last May 23 to 27, 2022 at the Don Bosco Retreat House in Batulao, Batangas.

Presided by Sr. M. Anthony Basa, Provincial Superior, accompanied by her provincial council, the meeting was attended by the following community animators coming different parts of the Philippines:

Sr. M. Lourdes Eublera: Divine Master Convent – Cebu
Sr. M. Gracia Mag-uyon: Divine Master Convent – Davao
Sr. M. Aida Malonzo: Divine Master Convent – Antipolo
Sr. M. De la Paz Masaquel: PDDM Apostolic Center – Manila
Sr. M. John Paul Canlas: Jesus Master Community – Iligan
Sr. M. Irene Cuadra: Giaccardo Community – Laoag
Sr. M. Jeanelyn Peñaredondo: Madre Scolastica Community – Dagupan
Sr. Maria Luz Cabahug: Madre Lucia Ricci Community – Pampanga

Sr. M. Criselda Lagnason (Divine Master Convent in Taipei, Taiwan), Sr. M. Lawrence Consulta (St. Joseph House – Taiwan) and Sr. M. Regina Lito (Jesus Master Community – Hong Kong) also participated in the meeting online.

The meeting featured the reports of the local superiors who presented the realities and contexts of the PDDM presence and mission in their respective localities. Sr. M. Anthony Basa also gave her report about the whole Philippine-Taiwan-Hong Kong Province while Sr. M. Magdalene Magallanes discussed with the local superiors concerns on administration.

Prior to the meeting, the local superiors also had their formative sessions with Fr. Rene Lagaya, SDB and Retreat with Fr. Jojie Padilla, OP. They were ushered to reflect on Midlife and Aging Journey and Following the footsteps of Jesus like the Women of the Gospels as themes.

The meeting culminated with a recreation at the Don Bosco Beach House in Lian, Batangas.

The site prepared for the construction of Alberione House in Antipolo was blessed last May 28, 2022.

Officiated by Rev. Fr. Paul Vincent Octubre, SSP, the blessing happened at 10:00 in the morning. Members of the construction firm, Landoy and Associates also facilitated the groundbreaking ceremony which followed the blessing rite.

The sisters at the Divine Master Convent and some sisters from other communties also joined the celebration.

In his homily, Fr. Octubre affirmed the sisters’ courageous move to push through this project amidst the present challenges. He also lauded their faith in God’s Providence and likened it to that of Blessed James Alberione, their founder. He assured the sisters of his prayers.

Sr. M. Anthony Basa, the Provincial Superior, also expressed her gratitude to God and for everyone’s prayers and support for this project. She entrusts it to God’s providential care and will. The ceremony concluded with an agape meal.
