Meeting

PDDM PH-TW-HK: The annual meeting of the local superiors and bursars of the Philippine-Taiwan-Hong Kong (PTH) Province was held last May 1 to 2, 2021.

This year’s meeting was conducted online due to the restrictions brought about by the pandemic. The sisters called to the ministry of service and authority based in Antipolo, Manila, Quezon City, Dagupan, Laoag, Cebu, Davao, Iligan, Hong Kong and Taiwan had a two-day virtual gathering which was also joined by the sisters in the provincial government.

On the first day, only the local superiors and the provincial government team met. Sr. M. Anthony Basa, the Provincial Superior gave her opening message highlighting the importance of openness and flexibility as we embrace fragility and uncertainty during this time of the pandemic. She also pointed out that the meeting was meant not only to update one another about the present realities of every community, but also to learn, enrich and help each other address the crises they face. Then, the local superiors individually reported about their respective communities.  Day 1 concluded with updates and reminders given by the Provincial Secretary, who also led the evening prayer afterwards.

The local bursars joined the local superiors and the provincial government team on Day 2. It started with a report of Sr. M. Magdalene Magallanes, Provincial Councilor for Administration, on the current financial status of the province. Her presentation promoted awareness and resoluteness among the participants to collaborate further as a province with regards to the economic aspects of our life. In this line, the local bursars of different communities were also given the time to also present their own economic and financial situations. She imparted creative ways to reduce financial losses in every community and the whole  Province as well. An open forum for clarifications, questions and urgent concerns, followed by the evening prayer closed the second day.

We thank the Lord who brought  success to the first-ever online meeting of the Province Local Superiors and Bursars. May our Risen Master bring to fulfillment the work he has begun in and through each sister called to the ministry of service for the Province, for the congregation, for the Church and for the world.
