PDDM Poland: Pilgrimage of Prayer for Priests: On May 30, 2026, the 2nd National Pilgrimage of Prayer for Priests took place at Jasna Góra. The event was organized by the Bethany Mission for the Support of Priests, the Sister (Pious) Disciples of the Divine Master, and the Spiritual Adoption of Priests Association. The theme of this year’s gathering was: “United by the Priesthood of Christ.”
The rich program included both prayer and formation activities. In the Papal Hall, a panel discussion entitled “The Shared Priesthood in Service of Priests” was held. The speakers were Artur Ważny, Aleksander Bańka, Father Szymon Popławski, O.P., and the moderator Aleksandra Mieczyńska.
Participants also attended two conferences:
- “United in the Priestly, Royal, and Prophetic Mission through Prayer for Priests” by Fr. Łukasz Plata.
- “Why Do So Many Priests Leave the Priesthood?” by Fr. Wojciech Węgrzyniak.
At the same venue, pilgrims prayed the Rosary and participated in the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. In the Chapel of Our Lady, they celebrated Holy Mass together, presided over by Bishop Artur Ważny. For this occasion, the Pious Disciples of the Divine Master organized a bus pilgrimage from the Archdiocese of Warsaw. Their contribution to the preparation and leadership of the pilgrimage flows from the mission entrusted to them by their Founder, the Blessed James Alberione: “To be with the priest as Mary is with Jesus.” This means fostering vocations, praying for young people in formation, accompanying priests in their pastoral ministry, supporting them in times of crisis, caring for them in sickness and old age, and praying for them to attain heaven after death. The sisters also invite all those who have priests in their families or who pray for priests in their parish communities to take part in this mission.
The 3rd National Pilgrimage of Prayer for Priests is scheduled for May 22, 2027.
